* I was especially blessed by Danny Goins article “The Authority of Extra-Congregational Councils in the New Testament Church” in the April Issue. It was most timely considering the transition of leadership in which the Movement finds itself right now. Historically we were warned by A.F. Gray and others that the signs of incipient decay in theology begin with the doctrine of holiness and the spiritual nature of the governance of the Church. Danny has helped address concern and the entire April issue of Truth Matters calls us to biblical accountability.

* I hope this is a help to you. I attend a local Methodist Church, but was raised Church of God and love it. I attended ACTS for 2 years in the 50's and have been to several camp-meetings in the past 5-6 years. I love to read much of our Church’s beginnings. I am currently reading a book by Arlo Newell.  I pray your work continues.

Dave DeVoll, Your September 2014 issue covering “Equipping Leaders for Today’s Challenges” was as usual, very good. The highlight for me was Richard Bradley, “The Unpardonable Sin.” He covered some details I had never noticed before.

Thank you for your much-needed ministry to the church. I enjoyed the timely article by Dorothy Mullen-Hall, "Train up a child...."   It contained much excellent advice for Christian parenting.  One omission surprised me, however:  In her Bible storybook recommendations, no mention was made of Egermeier's Bible Story Book.  This book should be read in EVERY Church of God and Christian home.  I much prefer the original version, before its later revision over-simplified the outstanding Egermeier text.   E.E.E. was my very dear friend for years until her death.  (Another very excellent book in paperback which belongs in our homes is Little Pilgrim's Progress, by Helen L. Taylor.  Usually these titles can be found cheaply, often used but in good condition, at alibris.com)
